Maharishi Sthapatya Veda

The Sweetwater Luxury Bunkhouse was designed and constructed according to Maharishi SthapatyaVeda, a set of natural, architectural principles from the Vedic tradition of ancient India that have been revived in our time by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. These principles result in living spaces that support the well-being and evolution of those who reside in them. We hope you experience our bunkhouse as a place of rest, renewal and harmony with nature. More information about Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is available at www.sthapatyaveda.com.

Electric Power from Wind and Sun

The Sweetwater Luxury Bunkhouse is located in an off-the grid community. Electric power is supplied by the onsite wind turbine and several photovoltaic solar arrays. In addition, the homes at Abundance EcoVillage consume approximately one tenth the amount of energy consumed by the average American home. More information about Abundance EcoVillage is available at www.abundance-ecovillage.com.

Water from the Skies

The drinking and bathing water at Abundance EcoVillage is from filtered rainwater that is harvested from the roofs of each building and gathered into large, underground cisterns. The drinking water is further filtered and enhanced by a state-of-the-art, Japanese filter system. Hot water is provided by a high efficiency, tankless, on-demand heater.

Earth Tube Ventilation

Ventilation, cooling and preheating is provided by geothermal Earth Tubes. The tubes are buried at a depth of 10 feet where the temperature is 56 degrees in all seasons. Outside air is continually brought into the house providing natural air conditioning in the summer months, preheating in the winter months and fresh air inside the house 24/7. More information about Earth Tube technology is available at www.earthairtubes.com.
